Uranium Run City map and new vehicle scripts - Comments ()
In this update we have some fresh screenshots from the new team game mode - Uranium Run. All of the screenshots have been taken on the City map which is the biggest one we have created so far. br> br>
We have received a lot of complaints about vehicle handling after the last release and have been working hard to improve it. Today we are releasing an updated version of the vehicle physics scripts. They decrease the vehicle response delay, but are a purely server side solution. You can test them out on our official servers listed in this forum thread, check them out yourself or wait a day or two untill they propagate across all servers. These scripts are available in our downloads section. br> br>
The D.I.P.R.I.P. community has been providing us with lots of new ideas and suggestions. Today we have the pleasure to present a D.I.P.R.I.P. comic created by Surfur with the help of Garry's Mod. br> br>
You can see the entire comic at this forum thread. Also be sure to leave the author some of your comments.
We would also like to thank Ryan "Steppo" Stepalavich for correcting some of our nasty writing errors in the Story and About sections. br> br>
Today we have a few new screenshots showing our progress in adding teamplay modes to D.I.P.R.I.P.. br> br>
We already have team deathmatch working nicely with different car skins for the teams. We can also confirm that we have successfuly ported to the Orange Box SDK and can take full advantage of analog joypad support and the new engine features.
For those who can't wait for the next release we have prepared a few desktop wallpapers. br> br>
The next step is adding Capture The Flag, Domination and Assault game modes. We are working on three new maps and experimenting with gameplay. The new maps are going to be more spacious and team oriented. br> br>

DIPRIP reviews and community update - Comments (0)
Two weeks have passed since our public release and a lot has been happening since then. Our community has grown and is creating some cool content.
Boyblunder has created some nice screenshots of DIPRIP cars inside Garry's Mod:
And you can also view goon165's hedgehog youtube video:
You can find more fan made videos on youtube or at our forums.
PlanetHalflife has also featured a very nice video review of D.I.P.R.I.P. which you can check out here.
If you've missed on any D.I.P.R.I.P. previews before be sure to check these out:
ModDatabase:
"For an initial release, D.I.P.R.I.P. manages to resurrect the car combat genre on the PC platform and does so with smashing results." Read the full article here.
PlanetHalflife:
"Overall, the mod is a winner. Very high-quality graphic design, average or slightly above average sounds, pristine level designing, and a fun and very fast paced gameplay makes D.I.P.R.I.P. a mod you should always have installed on your PC, despite the few bugs and annoyances of vehicles and Half-Life 2. You'll notice too that there are places in the HUD and GUI where there are blank spaces for future upgrades, so rest assured that this truly is only a demo and there'll be lots more to come." Read the full article here.
SteamFriends:
"Maps are littered with decorations and obstacles, and almost everything can be destroyed simply by driving head-on into it. Powering through a built up area causing complete carnage and destruction hasn’t been this much fun in a good while, and it really does make you feel like you are completely un-restricted in how you play." Read the full article here.
We are now working on migrating to the new Orange Box engine and improving the vehicle handling. There will also be some new content arriving in the coming weeks so stay tuned for more.
You can find the Windows Dedicated Server package and a full list of download locations in our download section. If you still aren't sure if you want to play D.I.P.R.I.P. you can check out this short teaser video.
After 7 months of hard work since D.I.P.R.I.P.'s reactivation we are proud to announce that we have set the release date to the 7th of March (this Friday) 5pm GMT. br> br>
DIPRIP has entered a closed testing phase. We are now playing the game with a small group of dedicated testers, searching for bugs and polishing the details. We are very happy about the overall feedback so far. As a small teaser you can check out these few fresh screenshots taken during our tests. br> br>
We are very close to releasing the first public version, prior to that we are now actively searching for dedicated server partners for our official launch. Please contact us at diprip@gmail.com if you have an available server. We will be providing our launch partners with DIPRIP server installers a few days prior to launch. br> br>
We have updated our website's media section. We removed all of the old stuff and added some fresh screenshots. Also if you haven't seen our gameplay trailer yet you can check it out in the updated media section. br> br>
Today we would like to proudly inform that D.I.P.R.I.P. has been featured in the PC Gamer UK Magazine Christmas 2007 Issue. It is a full page article with some screenshots. For those of you that can't get the shiny printed version we have found a location at which you can read it with just one click. br> br>Additonally while the game plays better and better, nearing its public release, we would like to share some new screenshots from our playtests showcasing intense car combat. br> br>
It has been a while since we posted any news. Today we wanted to show a bunch of images with our new cars. Below you can see the hi-poly versions of the "Chaos 126p" and the "Bloody Mermaid". The Mermaid is a creation of Damian (Zuber) and is still "work in progress" so be sure to post some feedback.
Additionally we have a low poly (12K) textured version of the Chaos126p. The skins are still work in progress but already there is a dispute amongst our team which one fits better. We would be happy to hear your comments about them. There is a poll on our forums where you can vote for one of them.
